Between 1995 and 2001, he held several marketing positions at Cisco Systems, the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, during a period of extraordinary growth and market change. Prior to joining Cisco, Bob was partner in charge of the networking and communications practice at Regis McKenna Inc., a technology marketing consulting firm. In 11 years at the firm, he advised a wide variety of clients on marketing and communications strategy, new-market development, and channel strategy, with a focus on computer networking, advanced telecommunications, and networked applications. Clients included a broad range of companies, both large and small, including AT&T, Ameritech, Apple, IBM, Intel, Motorola, NCR, Pacific Bell, and Sprint.

He is an experienced public speaker, seminar leader, and independent consultant, and has been an adviser to the Entrepreneurial Fellows program at CalTech, and a member of the Governor’s Computer Industry Task Force in Minnesota. Bob began his professional career as an editor at The Oregonian newspaper. He is a graduate of Stanford University.
